SMI was in the top 21% of

• SMI has planted 186 trees in Ethiopia
to date.
• This project will restore 10,000
hectares of degraded land in Ethiopia’s
Amhara region by planting 11.9 million
trees, in partnership with The Hunger
Project.
• The Gewocha Forest project will
directly bene昀椀t 7,894 farmers and their
families across 14 communities, with
42,000 people bene昀椀ting indirectly.
KENYA
• Forest restoration: 2,700 trees.
• Every seedling has been labelled with
a hand painted sign with its species
written in Latin.
MADAGASCAR
• Mangroves planted: 3,975 trees.
• Will plant roughly 13 million mangrove
trees.
• Equivalent to generating 1,104,090
hours of work for the local community.
MOZAMBIQUE
• Mangrove planting and reforestation:
1,889 trees.
• 3.3 million trees will be planted over
3,000 hectares.
• Provides employment and a
sustainable income to local people.
