BEYOND BUSINESS
CONTRIBUTING TO SOCIAL VALUE FOR A
BETTER FUTURE
The social value pillar within the ESG
framework is critical for demonstrating how a
company’s operations, values, and strategies
go beyond pro昀椀ts to foster lasting change for
people and the planet.
The sustainability and social impact
committee is dedicated to helping our
organisation’s commitment to fostering
positive change in the communities where
we operate. By focusing on initiatives that
promote equity, diversity, and inclusion,
the committee works to enhance social
well-being and empower underrepresented
groups. Through partnerships with local
organisations, charitable contributions, and
employee driven volunteer programs, we aim
to create lasting social value. The committee
regularly evaluates the e昀昀ectiveness of its
e昀昀orts through quarterly meetings, ensuring
that our actions align with our values and
contribute to meaningful societal progress.
The environmental champions meet
quarterly to address environmental
challenges and identify key initiatives for
implementation. The group, comprised of
members from various departments, ensures
a diverse range of ideas and perspectives.
We collaborate closely with key stakeholders
to drive initiatives that reduce our carbon
footprint, enhance community engagement,
and promote sustainability. Through
collective e昀昀orts, we aim to create long-term
value that bene昀椀ts both the environment
and society. By setting clear goals, tracking
progress, and fostering partnerships, the
committee plays a pivotal role in maintaining
our organisation’s commitment to
sustainability and positive social impact.
In our continued journey toward creating
a positive, lasting di昀昀erence in the world,
SMI is proud to launch our new detailed
approach towards our social impact pillar
within our ESG framework. Embracing our
commitment to create meaningful social
value across every stage of our value chain,
and aligned with our 2030 social strategy,

SMI are expanding our e昀昀orts to address
critical global and local challenges. The
Social impact pillar is focused on addressing
key societal challenges across three core
areas: Employee well-being, Community
Engagement, and Sustainability & Social
Impact. With this launch, we aim to integrate
social value into the very heart of our business
model, ensuring that our actions are aligned
with UN Sustainable Development Goals
while making a tangible di昀昀erence at the
local level.
By launching this pillar, we are not only
reinforcing our dedication to ethical
practices and social responsibility but also
strengthening our capacity to generate
long-term positive impact. Whether
through fostering a healthy and inclusive
work environment, engaging in community
partnerships, or promoting sustainability
initiatives, we are proud to lead by example
and inspire others to join us in this important
journey toward a brighter, more equitable
future.
