SMI: ESG REPORT 2025
PARTNERING FOR
SUSTAINABILITY
Our Responsible Sustainable Partner
Strategy (RSPS) re昀氀ects SMI’s commitment
to conduct business in a transparent,
responsible, and sustainable manner. The
RSPS applies to all our business partners,
regardless of size or turnover, and covers both
tier one suppliers (those providing products or
services directly invoiced by SMI) and extends
to tier 2 and 3 suppliers, including component
manufacturers. This strategy involves all
employees, contractors, and subcontractors
who provide raw materials or services for
the products or services SMI receives. It also
encompasses all divisions, locations, and
associated group companies.
THE THREE
PILLARS
BUILDING OUR
RSPS
Tackling climate change and protecting the
environment and its people is centred on
protecting and preserving the environment
through decarbonisation across our supply
chain and business operations. This includes
conserving energy and water, managing
waste and chemicals responsibility, reducing
plastic consumption and recognising our
responsibility to tackle biodiversity and
deforestation (refer to our biodiversity policy
for further details). SMI’s key practices can
be divided across our operations: sourcing,
manufacturing, distribution and disposal of
our products.
BUSINESS
ETHICS
HUMAN
RIGHTS
PROTECTING
OUR PLANET
Respecting & upholding human rights pillars demonstrates that SMI is committed to
addressing modern slavery, human rights violations, and corruption within our value
chain. In alignment with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights
(UNGPS), the Ethical Trading Initiative Base Code, and 11 of the 17 SDGs, we are
dedicated to upholding internationally recognised human rights. This commitment
is re昀氀ected in our RSPS and supporting documents, including the Supplier Code of
Conduct, Code of Ethics, Child Labour and Young Worker Policy, and Migrant Agency
Worker Policy. Our approach is rooted in the International Bill of Human Rights and
relevant labour standards from the International Labour Organization (ILO).
