PARTNER STRATEGY
Our Responsible Sustainable Partner Strategy (RSPS)
embodies SMI’s commitment to conducting ourselves
in a transparent, responsible and sustainable way. This
is underpinned through our Environmental, Social and
Governance strategy and supports us in performing to
the highest degree when future proo昀椀ng our business,
achieving our targets, and working towards our
objectives.
This strategy encapsulates our stakeholder partnership
model, de昀椀ning our expectations and providing
guiding principles for our professional relationships. It
outlines how it has been designed to deliver value to all
stakeholders while adhering to governing principles and
ethical practices.
SMI’s RSPS outlines our expectations for business
partners, encouraging mutual accountability for the
environmental and social impact that we have on our
people and the wider community. Our strategy supports
the value chain by fostering strong relationships,
open communication, continuous improvement, and
recognition of evolving trends among our partners.
Throughout this document, we refer to our business
partners as a way of encompassing all partnerships
within our supply chain and value chain. These
include both upstream suppliers of all services and
raw materials (including plastic and products mostly
consisting of textiles), upstream logistics, and our
downstream distributors and customers.
THE TYPE OF BUSINESSES
OUR RSPS REFERS TO
Our RSPS relates to all our business partners
regardless, of size, turnover or number of employees.
It references tier one - those supplying a product or
service and directly invoiced by SMI. It does also extend
across to our wider value chain, including our tier 2 and
3 suppliers or component manufacturers.
The “who” in the business refers to all employees,
contractors and subcontractors involved in supplying
direct raw materials or services for the end goods or
services invoiced to SMI. This also extends across all
divisions, geographical locations and group companies
associated with the business partner.
