SMI: RESPONSIBLE SUSTAINABLE PARTNER STRATEGY 2025
FUTURE PROOFING
– MANDATORY
REQUIREMENTS
Within our RSPS, we acknowledge that there are
requirements that are not yet mandatory when doing
business with us, and that there are new regulations
and reporting metrics like the Corporate Sustainability
Reporting Directive (CSRD) and Corporate
Sustainability Due Diligence Directive that are
constantly being set by governing bodies.
As part of SMI’s ongoing commitment to responsible
sourcing, we partnered with The Reassurance Network
(TRN), who deliver tailored supply chain auditing
services to clients across numerous industries. TRN
have conducted comprehensive two pillar audits across
the manufacturing facilities producing our own brand,
ROKWEAR.
THIRD-PARTY AUDITORS
Within this strategy, we have outlined the requirements
that are not yet mandatory, showcasing the timeline
and expectations SMI have set in place for our business
partners.
The success of our RSPS, and the development of
meaningful relationships with our business partners
to foster collaboration, are largely in昀氀uenced by the
communication channels we establish.
SMI is committed to working together with our
business partners to ensure our RSPS is upheld to the
highest degree and implemented successfully. We will
continue to update this information and communicate
timelines which may be subject to change, either being
accelerated or extended depending on contributing
factors.
As part of our approach to responsible sourcing,
our RSPS and relevant auditing materials are
communicated to the necessary business partners.
After an audit has been completed, the full audit
report is shared with both parties (SMI and the facility)
with a corrective action plan drawn up if any risks are
identi昀椀ed.
Where your contract or product
speci昀椀cation with SMI involves
a requirement to meet a higher
standard than our RSPS, that higher
standard will take precedence over
our RSPS.
DUE-DILIGENCE &
ALIGNMENT OF OUR
RSPS ACROSS OUR
MANUFACTURING PARTNERS
These risks are graded across three pillars: critical,
major or minor. Speci昀椀c timeframes for resolution are
then outlined according to the level of risk and impact
associated with the risk.
An overall score will also be provided for each
manufacturing partner once TRN has carried out
an audit and the facility has completed our selfassessment. This score will be broken down across the
昀椀ve pillars and reviewed annually as we work with our
business partners to continually improve across our
three RSPS pillars.
Our RSPS provides a detailed framework to ensure
e昀昀ective due diligence, minimising risks related to
compliance, operational disruption, ethics and negative
environmental impacts.
Proactively assessing and managing our business
partners’ practices ensures an e昀昀ective supply chain,
helping SMI to uphold our values whilst improving long
term resilience, fostering trust among our stakeholders,
and strengthening overall stability.
