PROJECT 3:
CARBON OFFSET &
WOODLAND CARBON UK
Carbon moves around the earth in a cycle. There
are natural sources which emit carbon, and carbon
sinks that absorb it. Plants, soil, and the ocean are
examples of a natural sink, it is estimated that the
ocean absorbs 40% of CO2 emissions. Human
activity including transport and manufacturing
have created an imbalance between the amount
of greenhouse gases emitted and the amount that
can be absorbed by natural sinks. Afforestation is
important concept to implement helping to purify
the environment, maintain the temperature of the
planet and have a vital role in the regulation of the
water cycle.
This project supports afforestation, collaborating
with Woodland Carbon Code (WCC) in the UK
helping to establish long term carbon sinks whilst
providing and maintaining a habitat for the
natural wildlife.
