OF OUR PARTNERS
To ensure that our international suppliers conform
and comply with SMI’s Supplier Code of Conduct,
we have partnered with QIMA and The Reassurance
Network to guarantee compliance with our Supplier
Code of Conduct.
QIMA work on our behalf to audit our overseas
suppliers to ensure that each maintains the quality
and ethics we demand. They provide complete
visibility over relevant manufacturers and deliver
third party, objective auditing on our behalf. These
audits cover and analysis the hygiene, health,
and safety, waste management, child labour,
Labour practices, including forced labour, worker
representation, disciplinary procedures, and
discrimination and Working hours and wages.
The Reassurance Network is a team of specialists
located in Africa, China, Europe, South Asia, and
Southeast Asia. They work with manufacturing
sites, our teams, and our suppliers to understand
and improve working conditions and factory
performance. The Reassurance Network team
ensure that each vendor we partner with uphold
their responsibility for safety, sustainability, human
rights, and business ethics.
Ownership of all activities that relate to our business
practices is not taken lightly, SMI acknowledges the
importance of accountability and transparency.
The responsibility of providing an overall strategic
direction and framework outlining the goals, policies
and regulations SMI abide to and expect all our
stakeholders to fall with the Directors, Head of
Procurement and our ESG Officer. Independent
checks and management alongside the use of thirdparty auditing partners provide assurance t
hat compliance with laws and regulations is
being upheld.
